About the CCSSO~SCASS Health Education Assessment Project
HEAP Mission Statement:To develop effective health education assessment resources through a collaborative process, and to increase members’ capacity to align curriculum, instruction, and assessment to improve student health literacy through improved health instruction.
The Health Education Assessment Project (HEAP) focuses on improving
national health literacy by providing professional development and assessment resources aligning curriculum, instruction, and assessment to national health standards as well as incorporating 21st century skills.
Funding for the development of the HEAP Web-based Assessment System was provided by CCSSO through the Health Education Assessment Project.
Some of the content contained in the system was initially developed by CCSSO through contract 200-2000-10068 with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Division of Adolescent and School Health. The content of this system does not necessarily reflect the view or policies of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, nor does mention of trade names, commercial products, or organizations imply endorsement by the U.S. Government.
